About Veradence Health

Care that is true to the evidence.

The name joins vera (meaning true) with evidence. Proven best practices, guidelines and technologies can take years, even decades, to become routine practice. Veradence Health's mission is to shorten that wait, so patients and the people who care for them see the clinical and financial benefits sooner. Using an established case-based engagement model, we measure how clinicians actually practice and how they take up new technologies, and we deliver education that closes best-practice gaps, with clinical and financial returns you can measure.

We work with health systems and provider groups to increase the adoption of evidence-based care, and with life science, diagnostics and device companies to study the clinical utility of new technologies. The same approach, measuring practice with simulated patients, serves both.

Trever Burgon

Founder

Trever Burgon, PhD

Trever founded Veradence Health after more than fifteen years working on the gap between what the evidence says and what happens in the exam room or at the bedside.

He holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Stanford University and completed executive programs in Artificial Intelligence in Health Care at the MIT Sloan School of Management and in Entrepreneurship at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He spent twelve years at QURE Healthcare as Vice President and then General Manager, helping to take it from a proof-of-concept engagement tool through more than tenfold growth and two acquisitions. Before that he led the Center for Clinical Technology at Sg2, now part of Vizient, advising health system executives across more than 1,200 organizations on emerging clinical technology.

He is first or senior author on ten of his 19 peer-reviewed publications and has been principal investigator on multiple IRB-approved clinical utility studies among practicing physicians. His randomized trials appear in JMIR, PLOS ONE and BMC Urology, and his studies of real-world cost and quality results in the American Journal of Medicine and the Journal of Hospital Medicine.

How we work

Four things you can count on

Evidence first
Our cases and scoring are built on published, evidence-based guidelines, and every piece of feedback cites its source. We hold our own work to the same standard, publishing our results in peer-reviewed journals.
Independent
Our clinical training content carries no sponsorship and no advertising. No company pays to place a product in a case or to shape a guideline, so clinicians can trust what they learn and leaders can trust what we report.
Respect for clinical judgment
Aligning care with the best available evidence is not cookbook medicine. We help clinicians see where the guidelines clearly apply, so they can spend their time and judgment on the patients who need it most.
No patient data
The patients are simulated, so there is no protected health information, no data-sharing agreements and no IT integration to negotiate. That is why a project can launch in weeks, with little or no burden on leadership or participants.
